Baptism

In holy baptism the triune God delivers us from the forces of evil, puts our sinful self to death, gives us new birth, adopts us as children, and makes us members of the body of Christ, the church.

Baptism at Trintity takes place within a worship service with the congregation present.  It is our hope that for all who are baptized wether they are a parent taking on the promises for a child or an individual they are taken with integrity...

to live with God's faithful people,

bring the them to the word of God and the holy supper

teach them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments,

place in their hands the holy scriptures,

and nurture them in faith and prayer,

so that your children may learn to trust God,

proclaim Christ through word and deed,

care for others and the world God made,

and work for justice and peace.

All those interested in baptism need to meet with one of the pastors prior to baptism.

Holy Communion

Holy Communion preparation takes place in the Spring for 2 hours on a Sunday morning.  The date for 2025 is Sunday April 6 from 10am-12pm.  The workshop is for children and a parent/guardian.  Holy Communion Preparation is open to any age, as long as the child has a desire for Holy Communion and are familiar/can recite the Lord's Prayer. Adults who have never had any formal Holy Communion Preparation are welcome to participate in this class too.  The rite of "first communion" is celebrated on Maundy Thursday during worship.  April 17, 2025

The Trinity 5th graders also participate in a more intensive Sacraments class that focuses on baptism and Holy Communion.  They meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-5:45 PM. At the end of the unit they participate in a Sedar Meal with their families and also get to help lead the Maundy Thursday service. This is a special class for them!
